I am a visual artist living in the Black Mountains. The physical act of making is a vital aspect of my work. Allowing my hands to create form from the ideas and images in my mind is a process of discovery that has held a lifelong fascination. I make things in order to reveal to myself and others my standpoint in life. It is integral both to my sense of clarity and contentment.
I originally trained as a textile designer in London and NYC, before completing a first class degree in Contour Fashion and working internationally as a lingerie designer in Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, China and NYC.
Time spent immersed in the world of mass manufacture acted as a catalyst for personal change. It led me on a journey that culminated in an overwhelming desire to reconnect with the conscious yet visceral act of making, the publication of my first book and a move towards becoming a visual artist.
My current themes of artwork explore ideas and ideals of womanhood, strength and vulnerability. Please get in touch if you’re interested in collaborating on a project or commissioning artwork.
For any literary enquiries, I am represented by Jenny Hewson at Rogers, Coleridge & White.
